Below you will find some of the questions we have been asked about the Blink 2.0 migration. If there are any questions we have not answered yet, please don’t hesitate to reach out to support@blinkpayment.co.uk.

What’s Changed?

Lots! Visually, there is a whole new layout; the dashboard has been split into 4 easy to manage sections. We have added Open Banking and Batch Payments as additional payment methods. There is far more functionality within each individual section, alongside customisation.

Is there an additional cost?

There is no additional cost, your Blink account will remain on its current Blink Plan.

Is there a new URL for log in?

Quite simply head over to www. secure.blinkpayment.co.ukand use your existing log in details.

Will I have to set up all of my users again?

Your Blink set up will automatically be replicated in Blink 2.0 (big grin) Any additional users can be set up under ‘Payment Operations', ‘User Preferences’ followed by the ‘Add User’ button.

Where’s my VT?

The Virtual Terminal is now under ‘Take a Payment’ on your Blink Portal.

Where do I send a PayLink?

PayLinks are now under ‘Request a Payment’ on your Blink Portal.

What about my Blink3Sixty blink pages?

Your old Blink3Sixty pages will remain functional. However, we do recommend switching to your new, improved Blink pages. They include all your personal customisations from your Blink3Sixty pages, and allow your customers to pay via Card, Open Banking and Direct Debits directly from the page!

Where do I view/re-send a PayLink?

Under ‘Request a Payment’ followed by the tab ‘Requested Payments’.

What is Open Banking?

Open Banking is essentially a bank to bank transfer, in which you receive funds from customers instantly. It takes the acquiring bank (AIB or Elavon) out of the equation. There is a flat rate of 0.75% for this feature. You can activate easily in your Blink portal by clicking the ‘activate open banking’ button in the top right. This goes straight through to the correct department, who can have you set up same day! There are no fees should you activate this feature and not use it; it is per transaction and there are no monthly costs.

What is a Batch Payment?

Batch Payments gives the ability to process multiple card payments simultaneously by uploading a CSV file. The card must have been used previously on Blink to generate the secure key needed (Blink Unique Reference (BUR)) - a verify transaction can be done on the virtual terminal to obtain this without charging the customer. Once activated on your account, you can find Batch Payments under the Payments tab on the left-hand navigation bar (Payments → Process A Batch Payment).
