Below are some of the questions we have been asked about the Blink 2.0 migration. If there are any questions we have not answered yet, please don’t hesitate to reach out to support@blinkpayment.co.uk.

What’s changed?

Lots! Visually, there There is a whole new layout; the dashboard has been split into four easy-to-manage sections. We have added Open Banking and Batch Payments as additional payment methods. There is far more functionality within each individual sectionarea, alongside customisation.

Is there an additional cost?

There is no additional cost. Your Blink account will remain on its current Blink plan.

Is there a new URL for log logging in?

Simply head Head over to secure.blinkpayment.co.ukand use your existing login details.

Will I have to set up all of my users again?

Your Blink set-up will automatically be replicated in Blink 2.0. Any additional users can be set up under ‘Payment Operations' ,and User Preferences followed by the ‘Add User’ button.

Are the user levels the same? / What are the new user levels?

We updated some of the individual user levels, and you can find more information on user levels here.

  1. Lead: has full access to the entire platform.

  2. Supervisor: has access to everything other than billing details.

  3. Accounts: has have access to payments, reporting, and account details.

  4. Support: has access to payments (with the exception of except batch payments), reporting, and account details.

  5. Payment Tier 1: has access to payments (with the exception of except batch payments), and re-run, refund and repeat transactions.

  6. Payment Tier 2: has access to payments (with the exception of except batch payments), cannot perform any other actions, but see recent transactions.

MID Restriction

You can now restrict your sub-users to one or multiple MIDs. They will only be able to take payments specific to MIDs.

Where’s my VT?

The virtual terminal is now under ‘Take a Payment’ on your Blink portal.

Where do I send a PayLink?

 PayLinks are now under ‘Request a Payment’ on your Blink portal.

What about my Blink3Sixty Blink pages?

Your old Blink3Sixty pages will remain functional. However, we do recommend switching to your new, improved Blink pages. They include all the customisations from your Blink3Sixty pages and allow your customers to pay via Card, Open Banking and Direct Debits directly from the page!

Where do I view/re-send a PayLink?

 Under ‘Request a Payment’ followed by the ‘Requested Payments’ tab.

What is Open Banking?

Open Banking is a bank-to-bank transfer in which you receive funds from customers instantly. It takes the acquiring bank (AIB or Elavon) out of the equation. There is a flat rate of 0.75% for this feature. You can activate it easily in your Blink portal by clicking the activate open banking button in at the top right. This comes straight through to our team, who which can have you set up the same day! There are no fees if you activate this feature and do not use it; it is per transaction, and there are no monthly costs.

Open Banking is completely entirely and utterly FREE up until October November 2022!

What is a Batch Payment?

Batch Payments allows processing multiple card payments simultaneously by uploading a CSV file. The card must have been used previously on Blink to generate the secure key needed (Blink Unique Reference (BUR)) - a verify transaction can be done on the virtual terminal to obtain this without charging the customer. Once activated on your account, you can find Batch Payments under the Payments tab on the left-hand navigation bar (Payments → Process A Batch Payment).

How can I filter by customer name on the Online Card Transactions tab?

 You can add the filter by customer name by clicking on advanced filters, select the search field, selecting customer name and filling in the search terms & clicking on apply filter will allow you to add this filter to your view.

Once a filter is added, the clear filter button highlights that there is currently a filter in place:

Where can I process refunds on Blink 2.0?

Within the Blink 2.0 platform, you will be able to can process Card Refunds on the Recent Blink Transactions and Online Card Transactions Reporting pages.

Online Card Transactions: view the entire history of all the transactions you have taken on Blink or via an integration.

Recent Blink Transactions: any transaction you have taken on Blink that day (via Request a Payment, Take a Payment or Blink page).

Navigate to one of the above pages and identify the transaction you want to refund (these pages has have various filtering options). Click on Action to display the different options and select Refund.

A pop-up message will appear where you can choose the amount you want to refund. Click on Refund Transaction. A refund cannot be cancelled.

Users with the level Payment Tier 2 can’t process refunds. Please find out more about user levels in our user guide.
