Enhanced URL's

Overview

Enhanced URLs can be used to prefill fields on your Blink page dynamically. This is particularly useful when collecting payments.

Navigation

You can create enhanced URLs for your Blink page(s) by accessing the Modify field section of the Customiser page within the Customer Centre.

How To Use

On the Blink page customiser page, navigate to the Modify fields section. Rename the URL descriptors of the fields that you want to prepopulate. Additionally, you may want to set them as read-only to prevent customers from editing them.

To add a value to the URL descriptor on your Blink page, simply type a question mark "?" on the address bar, followed by the URL descriptor, an equal sign "=", and the desired value. If you want to add another value, separate the URL descriptor and value with an ampersand &".

e.g. secure.blinkpayment.co.uk/charity?amount=10&description=Donation

You can also rename fields to something more relevant. If you are a B2B, you can change “Full Name” to “Business name”.

Please see some more examples below of how you can use enhanced URLs.

Please note that for the currency field modifier you must use the 3 digit numerical currency code (e.g. 826 for GBP or 840 for USD) in the URL.

If you are selling items with different amounts and you want to avoid relying on the customer to fill in the correct amount or having to create a payment link for every payment, you can use URL descriptors to prefill the required fields and mark them as read-only, so that they cannot be changed.

Pay for Shoes, Pay for a Shirt, Pay for a Jumper

You can accept payment for various products and orders using the same Blink page. Both you and the customer receive email notifications when a payment is successfully made. This allows you to fulfill the customer's purchase immediately without requiring a website integration.

Most CRM tools such as Mailchimp, Xero, and Salesforce allow you to retrieve customer information using field names. By matching your Blink page's descriptor URLs with your CRMs, you can dynamically enter customer details and create a unique page for each customer with a single URL link.

e.g. secure.blinkpayment.co.uk/charity?Name=|CUSTOMER NAME|&email=|CUSTOMER EMAIL|

Please refer to our Xero integration guide to learn how to attach Blink pages to Xero invoices and enter the invoice number dynamically.
