Overview

Blink now offers 2FA allowing Blink employees and our merchants to improve their security on Blink.

This is a merchant-led feature; only merchants can switch this on for their business.

What is 2FA?

Set-up

Internal set-up

You can now set up 2FA for Blink. You can find 2FA in Settings (1)→ Blink staff settings (2) → My account (3).

(4) Click on Enable TFA and add your Blink password to confirm.

Open your Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone (works with all general authenticator apps).

(5) Click on the plus +.

(6) Choose work or school account.

(7) Click on scan QR code.

Scan the QR code on your computer screen. Once scanned, fill in the OTP (one-time password) and click confirm.

QR codes, are personal. Don’t let anyone else scan your 2FA QR code as, together with your login details they will be able to log in.

 Find your OTP

You can find the OTP in your authenticator app.

Once you have activated your 2FA, a recovery code will be generated. This can be used to recover access to the account if your 2FA device is lost.

Disable 2FA from your Blink account

To disable 2FA from your account, simply click on Disable and fill in your Blink password.

Logging in

Once 2FA has been added to your account, you will be prompted to authenticate via your authenticator App and fill in the OTP (one-time password) after using your general login details.

Issues logging in

Are you experiencing issues logging in? Use the recovery code you received while you set up your 2FA. If this does not do the trick, contact the Blink lead user to reset this for you.

Removing 2FA

Potential issues and how to solve them

Two-factor authentication device is lost

Advise the user to contact the lead or merchant owner, they will be able to reset the 2FA for their sub-users.

We prefer, that you do not reset this on behalf of the customer, however (when necessary, discuss with Amy) you can do this by impersonating the merchant.
