Overview
This guide will take you through the steps of connecting the Blink app to a Miura device (done via Bluetooth) and using its transaction history.
The Miura device allows you to accept both contactless and non-contactless card payments. The app is available on Android and iOS.
Set-Up
If you would like to use the Blink app, please contact the blink Support Team, who will add the mobile app integration to your account and send you a Miura device.
How To Use
You will then be prompted to connect to your Miura device. Please ensure Bluetooth is switched on and the Miura device is charged and nearby. Go to the Bluetooth Settings on your smartphone and on the Miura device, and click the Bluetooth button at the top - this will cause the blue light to turn on and off rapidly. In the Bluetooth settings on your smartphone, you will be able to see the Miura device. Connect to the device - you will need to verify that you are connecting to the correct device. Once connected, you will then be redirected to the terminal page, where you will be able to start taking payments.
You should only need to go through this process once. When you next open up the app, it will automatically connect to that Miura device.
Taking Payments
Enter the amount you want to charge in the amount field and a reference in the reference field. The reference can only contain simple characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9) and is limited to 15 characters. You also cannot re-use the same reference with the same phone. If you wish, you can leave this field empty.
Once the amount and reference are set correctly, click Proceed. A pop-up will show that the payment is in process, and the Miura device will prompt you to present a card. The customer can tap the card on the device screen or insert the card into the device and enter their pin into the pin pad. Once the transaction has been processed successfully, you will be redirected to the success page, where you can input an email to send a transaction receipt to the customer.
