Enhanced URLs

Overview

Enhanced URLs enable you to prepopulate fields on your Blink page dynamically. This is very useful for accepting payments quickly.

Navigation

You can create enhanced URLs on your Blink page(s), by navigating to the Modify Field section of the Customiser page by navigating to the Customer Centre.

How To Use

Once you are on the Blink Page customiser page, go to the Modify Fields section. Rename the URL descriptors of the fields you wish to prepopulate accordingly. You may also want to mark them as read-only, so the customer will not be able to edit the fields.

On the address bar of your Blink page, add a “?” symbol followed by the URL descriptor, followed by “=”, and finally, by the value you wish for it to have. If you to populate another field, add “&” followed by the URL descriptor, “=” and the value.

e.g. secure.blinkpayment.co.uk/charity?amount=10&description=Donation

You can also rename fields to something more relevant. If you are a B2B, you can change “Full Name” to “Business Name”.

Please see some more examples below of how you can use enhanced URLs.

Please note that for the currency field modifier you must use the 3 digit numerical currency code (e.g. 826 for GBP or 840 for USD) in the URL.

(A full list of codes can be found here: https://www.iban.com/currency-codes - External Link)

Selling Specific Products

CRM Integrations

Suppose you are selling items with specific items with different amounts, rather than relying on the customer to fill in the correct amount or having to make a PayLink for every payment. In that case, you can use the URL descriptors to prefill them and mark the field as read-only to ensure it is not changed.

Pay for Shoes, Pay for a Shirt, Pay for a Jumper

Using the same Blink page, you can accept payments for different products with different payments. As you and the customer receive email notifications when a successful payment is made, you will immediately be able to fulfil the customer’s purchase without needing a website integration.

With most CRM tools (Mailchimp, Xero, Salesforce), you will be able to access customers' details with their filed names. You can match your Blink page’s descriptor URLs with your CRMs; you will be able to enter the details dynamically. You can create a unique page for each customer with one URL link.

e.g. secure.blinkpayment.co.uk/charity?Name=|CUSTOMER NAME|&email=|CUSTOMER EMAIL|

Please see our Xero integration guide for seeing how to attach Blink pages to your Xero invoices, with dynamically entering your invoice number to the Blink page.
