Please note that the items mentioned below, are not replaced during a swap out, only the relevant part i.e. physical terminal
Ensure you have the following items included with your terminal:
1x Card machine
1x Magic box cable (connected to terminal)
1x Power cord
1x Ethernet cable
1x Phone line cable
Not included with your terminal:
Telephone socket
Router or wall mounted Ethernet socket
You will also need the following information:
Merchant ID Number. This is the “MID NUMBER” that you can find on your Blink Portal, or an acquiring statement.
Power
You first need to connect your Terminal to a
power supply:
Place the Terminal in a convenient location for both you and your customers.
Plug the Power Cord into the Magic Box Cable.
Plug the Power Plug into an electrical socket.
Communication
You then need to connect your terminal to either a broadband or telephone line:
A. If using a broadband connection (recommended), connect the Magic Box to a router or wall mounted Ethernet socket, using an Ethernet cable. This connection port is labelled ETH.
B. If using a standard telephone line connection, connect the Magic Box to a wall telephone socket using a standard telephone lead. This connection port is labelled IN.
SET UP
Your terminal will now prompt you to select one of two connection methods:
Local Network is for broadband connections.
Telephone (PPP) is for standard telephone line connections.
Select the appropriate option using the payment terminal arrow keys. Once selected, press the green ENTER button to continue.
Note, for Telephone (PPP) connections, the terminal will ask you if:
You have ‘call waiting’ or ‘1571’. If applicable, select the correct option and press the green ENTER button to indicate your selection.
You hold a “dial prefix”. If applicable, enter the prefix when prompted and press the green ENTER button .
You will now be prompted to enter your Merchant ID Number. Key in your MID Number and press the green ENTER button . A download will then begin.
Once you have successfully installed your Terminal the MID Number will be displayed on screen. You are now ready to start taking card payments.
Make a 1p transaction on your personal card to ensure the setup has been successful.
IWL 251 (GPRS)

Ensure you have the following items included with your terminal:
1x iWL251 card machine
1x charging base unit
1x power cord
1 x supervisor card
1 x SIM card
Place the terminal within the Base Unit.
Plug the Power Cord into the Base Unit.
Plug the Power Plug into an electrical socket. A blue ‘:-)’ symbol will then appear on screen.
Note: Ensure your terminal is fully charged before beginning the setup process.
Switch on the terminal by holding down ENTER .
Navigate through the set up, by selecting either automatic mode or manual mode (SIM settings)
Enter the merchant ID, the terminal should begin installing
Should the terminal get stuck, use the supervisor card to access the function codes (function 91)
Make a 1p transaction on a card to ensure the setup has been successful
Note: This test transaction must be made by inserting your card and entering your PIN, not a contactless transaction.
IWL 252 (Blueooth)
Ensure you have the following items:
(Please note that during a swap out, only the relevant hardware will be provided, such as the Terminal itself, or the Base unit)
1x Ingenico iWL252 base unit
1x Card machine
1x Power cord
1x Ethernet cable
1x Phone line cable
Not included with your terminal:
Telephone socket
Router or wall mounted Ethernet socket
You will also need the following information:
Merchant ID Number - this is the “MID” that you can find on your Blink account, or your Acquiring Bank statement
Power
You first need to connect your Base Unit to
a power supply:
Place the Terminal within the Base Unit, in a convenient location for both you and your customers.
Plug the Power Cord into the Base Unit.
Plug the Power Plug into an electrical socket. A blue ‘:-)’ symbol will then appear on screen.
Communication
You then need to connect your Base Unit to either a broadband or telephone line:
If using a broadband connection (recommended), connect the Ingenico iWL 252 base Unit to a router or wall mounted Ethernet socket, using
an Ethernet cable. This connection port is on the back of the base unit, next to the power cord.If using a standard telephone line connection, connect the IN socket on the Base Unit to a telephone socket using a standard telephone lead. The IN socket is located on the bottom of the Base Unit, to access it simply lift off the cover.
a. F1-F4 Keys. Function keys enable scrolling up and down through menus.
b. Menu Key. To enter the application menus, press the MENU key from the READY prompt. Pressing this key again moves to the next menu (if available).
c. Correction Keys. When entering numbers or letters, the yellow CLEAR button deletes one character at a time, whilst the red CANCEL button deletes the entire line (this key also cancels transactions).
d. Confirmation Key. The green ENTER button is used to confirm anything that has been typed into the terminal.
e. Paper Feed. To test the feeding of the paper through the printer, press and hold CLEAR .
f. Reboot Terminal. To reboot the terminal hold down CLEAR and ‘ . ,’ ’ simultaneously.
THE SET UP

Part 1
You first need to connect your Base Unit to

Plug the Power Plug into an electrical socket. A blue ‘:-)’ symbol will then appear on screen.
Part 2
Follow the Set Up which is initiated automatically
Select WiFi Set Up
Select option ‘Profiles’
Select option ‘New Profile’ by pressing ENTER
Select option ‘Automatic Scan’ by pressing ENTER . A list of available networks will appear. Choose the WiFi Network you want to connect to
Select option ‘Home Security’ by pressing ENTER
Select option ‘WPA/WPA2’ by pressing ENTER
Key in your WiFi password by pressing the number keys to scroll through the characters. To enter your password, navigate to the green circle icon and press ENTER
When the network symbol turns green, your terminal is successfully connected to the internet
The terminal should request the merchant ID, which should be inserted so that the terminal can install
Once installation is complete;
Make a 1p transaction on a personal card to ensure setup has been successful. Begin by keying in the transaction amount and pressing ENTER . When the prompt appears, insert your card into the terminal
Set a new supervisor password
Re-enter the password by typing it in again and pressing ENTER . The terminal will display ‘parameter saved’
Terminal will then proceed to the payment screen by asking for the PIN number of the card – Enter the PIN to proceed with the 1p sale
